Underwater inspection of hydraulic structures
A hydroacoustic area survey of the Cheboksary Hydroelectric Power Plant structures on the Volga River was carried out from the small survey vessel Tango.
The survey system combined a Reson SeaBat 7125 SV2 multibeam echo sounder and an Applanix POS MV-320 inertial navigation system. For inspection of vertical structures and retaining walls, the multibeam transducer was rotated by 45 degrees. This provided high-resolution coverage of the submerged structures.
